C.C.T.V.

C.C.T.V. systems vary depending on the application, for instance a small shop may just want a camera looking into an area that is out of view with a monitor at the till.

Cameras and monitors can be colour or monochrome but at night monochrome cameras generally produce a clearer picture. If you want the 'best of both worlds' you can instal cameras that switch between colour and monochrome depending on the light level.

If recorded images are required a video recorder can be installed to provide evidence should the need arise.

If additional cameras are required then a 'Splitter' would be needed, this splits the monitor screen up depending on the amount of cameras.

If you require all the cameras to be recorded the addition of a 'Multiplexor' is required, This piece of equipment records images from each camera and stores them on a single video tape

'Slave Monitors' may be used to make people aware that they are being recorded.

If live images and control are required then equipment can be installed so the images are sent to a remote site. This could be used to back up an intruder alarm or have periodic patrols, on receipt of an activation from your intruder alarm our Monitoring Station could 'dial into' your C.C.T.V. and report the findings to yourselves or the Police.

With effect from 24th October 2001 changes to the Data Protection Act requires that you register your system and display signs advising people that they are being recorded, these signs must include the name and contact number of the person responsible for the system
